RWR heading to UCI stage races

RWR p/b BIemme is continuing on its developmental path which it has been working on for the past 12 years.  The team transitioned from a club that was solely formed around supporting Glen Rendall and his track cycling into a club that has a road racing focus.  In 2008, RWR entered a team into its first UCI road race.  Since then RWR has fielded teams in 8 UCI races (1 podium) and won the Canadian Championship Road Race Title in 2009.

2014 marks a big year in the team’s development by entering in its first UCI stage races.  Beginning with the Grand Prix Cyclist Saguenay on June 5 – 8, and then the following week will tackle the 29th edition of the Tour de Beauce.

Planning for these events has been underway for months, and it is all coming together as the team is ready to hit the road on June 4 aboard the new kitted out team van (15 Passenger Ford E-350).

This has been made possible by the continued support of the RWR members and all the sponsors over the years.  We would like to thank Biemme, CIBC Wood Gundy – Rob Orange, Greg Christies, Erg Video, The Avant Gardeners, Enervit, Bell Helmets, Look Pedals, and Vittoria who have all supported the team to get to this point.

Over the next two weeks we will do our best to keep everyone up to date on how the team is doing, through our facebook page and twitter feed, with some live updates from the caravan.

Team rosters for both events can be found via the following links.

Thanks for your support, and we hope that we can show the RWR colours flying high on the international stage once again.
